Bitcoin, the world’s largest crypto asset (virtual currency), temporarily exceeded $ 34,000. Just a few weeks after breaking through $ 20,000, it surpassed the next high of $ 30,000.
As of 3:05 pm Singapore time (4:05 Japan time), the price has been around $ 33,970. At one point, it rose 7.8% to $ 34,182.75. The price rose by nearly 50% in December last year, surpassing $ 20,000 for the first time.
Bitcoin plummeted 25% in March last year due to concerns over the pandemic of the new coronavirus (a global epidemic), but has since recovered sharply.
Antoni Trenchev, co-founder and managing partner of NEXO (London), said, “It will probably go to $ 50,000 in the first quarter of 2021.” Private investor buying took the lead during the holidays, but institutional investors expected to return to work this week, further boosting the market.
